More about Feather the Nest

I was blessed with a wonderful baby....and she has spit up gallons and gallons upon me since the day she was born.  Therefore, the two most important baby items in my opinion are: BIBS and BURP CLOTHS.
Our little angel turns 8 months old today and she is still spitting up after every meal.
So, I have been on the quest for the perfect bibs and burp cloths to deal with this issue.
I have learned a few things:

  • the ones that tie with strings are just for looks (grabby babies love to pull them off and spit up onto that fresh, new outfit
  • you have to be careful with the ones that fasten with velcro because you can scratch your baby's neck during the removal process
  • absorbency is key
So, with the knowledge of what works for me in mind, I started a business hand sewing bibs and burp cloths from scratch!  Those of you who know me know that this is a very unlikely undertaking.  I have been perceived as not being very ummm domesticated for the greater part of my life.  But, necessity is the mother of invention so here we go!

Here are a few of my new creations:

As you can see, I have also been working on learning the art of monogramming!

Hello there everyone....or no one as the case may be right now;)
I have been sewing in the very limited "me time" that I have these days in hopes of creating items that are so pretty that people will want to buy them for the new babies in their lives.
Here is a link to Facebook that shows some of my handmade wares:

On a side note, my eight-month-old daughter awoke with a strange rash.  After emailing a pic to the doctor and several phone exchanges, I had to rush her to the doctor.   The poor thing has had a virus and the rash is just the tail end of it...she has been sick and we did not even know it.
So, during the time I was supposed to work on this blog post, I was actually at the doctor.  Therefore, this is a rather pathetic post, but here's to better ones in the future.
